Growing old, the hula hoop and how to stay young! (Home video)

Mom just stopped by to give me my belayed birthday present.

It was a hula hoop.

As a child I was hula hoop queen!  I could walk for hours without ever dropping it.  Make it go up to my neck, over to an arm, down to my feet, back up to my neck. without ever dropping it.

When I was about nine, I decided it was time to break the hula hoop record.  I did that thing for 23 hours straight (yes without dropping it)  Dad was very impressed.  He went to the library to find out what the record was.  Turns out the record was for how many at once you could do.  Not how long.  I quit.  There is NO way I can do that many!  That is taller than me!

Looking back on it,  I bet I did break the record for the longest without dropping.  Even then it doesn’t matter we need a witness.  Eh, I was a child with a dream.  The dream to succeed.

Over the years I have said, I can still do it,  I just need a bigger hula hoop.

Well now, someone invented it.
ANOTHER invention stole for me!
Maybe one day I will get on the wagon quicker.

I was right too.  I cans till do it.

So mom shows up, with her words of wisdom.

Listen to her closely.

THIS is HOW we stay young!

GO MOM!!!  Ya GO GIRL!  Maybe I do have something to learn from you after all.
